Privacy policy
Last updated 27 September 2026
Who we are
SecondMemory (“we”, “us”) is based in Sydney, Australia. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, we also aim to meet the GDPR.
What we collect
When you request an invite, we keep:
- your email address;
- the plan you told us you are interested in, and whether you want to hear about SecondMemory Pod, if you answered;
- where you came from, if your link said so: the referring page and any campaign tags in the link (for example “utm_source”);
- when you signed up and when you last answered.
That is all. We do not ask for your name, and we do not use advertising, tracking cookies or analytics tools on this site. Fonts are served from our own site, not from a third party.
What happens automatically
Like any website, the servers that deliver this site see your IP address and browser details with each request. Our sign-up form uses your IP address for a few minutes, in memory, to stop automated abuse; we do not store it. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs for security and reliability, under its own policies.
Why we use it
- To send your invite, and occasional news about SecondMemory. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To understand demand, for example how many people want each plan, so we build the right thing.
- To keep the site secure and working.
We never sell your information, and we never use it to train AI models. If you are in the EU or UK, our legal basis is your consent (you asked to join the list), which you can withdraw at any time.
Where it is kept, and who helps us
- Invite requests are stored with Supabase, in its Sydney (Australia) data centre.
- The website is hosted by Netlify, which delivers it from servers around the world and is based in the United States.
These providers process information only to run our service for us. Because Netlify operates outside Australia, request details may be handled overseas; we choose providers with strong security and contractual privacy commitments.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we stop taking invite requests, whichever comes first. After that we delete it.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can unsubscribe at any time. To do any of these, email us at hello@secondmemory.io. We will answer within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, please tell us first so we can fix it. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or, in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
Children
Invitations are for people aged 16 and over.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you by email first.
